Don’t underestimate the power of Hashtags

Embrace this little cute symbol and let your ideas fly.

Hashtags allow you to send your message further. They allow people to find content that otherwise they wouldn’t probably find. So, don’t be shy: use them. As long as the hashtag is relevant to your post, it is relevant to your audience as well.

Do a good research on each social platform you are using and create a document with a list of hashtags you believe are the best ones to use regarding each subject you tend to focus on your posts.

Here are some ideas to have in mind when writing your post and choosing your most ❤️ hashtags:

Don’t go too long, please! 2 to 4 words maximum. Remember, the fundamental purpose of a hashtag is content tagging. They help you to transmit your message, they are not your message. And this takes me to another important point: don’t try to be too clever.

And please don’t overuse. Write your message and add the appropriate hashtags but don’t say what you have to say by using a 100 hashtags.  Again, you add them, you don’t communicate your idea with them. Otherwise, you will look a lot like Justin and Jimmy on this video, and believe me, you don’t want that.  😆

hash·tag: A word or phrase preceded by a hash mark (#), used within a message to identify a keyword or topic of interest and facilitate a search for it
